Archive of Yamaguchi Ryouta (Series Composition) personal site for Digimon Savers from May 2007

Toei Animation Pitch presentation December 2005 Just going to drop the interesting morsels here:

  • DATS (Digital Accident Tactics Squad) was originally DAT (Digimon Authorized Team)
  • Masaru was an only child.
  • Daimon Masaru's original profile (age 14): Jr. High School student who likes fighting more than 3 meals a day. Self-titled 200-streak undefeated. All in both west and east sides of Japan knew his name already. His goal was to be Japan's strongest man. A master of exchanging fists with Digimon in order to communicate. He seems like the typical delinquent at first, but his sense of loyalty and compassion are a cut above the rest. Deaf with machines. His rival Tohma constantly makes fun of him because he can't even use a mobile device properly. He joins DAT (placeholder name) motivated by his love for fights, and the chance to make a ruckus. Lives alone with his mother. He's always concerned that he's causing trouble for his mother...
  • Masaru's partner Digimon Agumon's original profile: Since no one was able to get close to him, he was set to be disposed of, so he ran away. He encountered Masaru as a result, has a fist fight with him, and ends up calling him Aniki afterwards. Hates being in the Digivice and leaves it on his own. His favorite food is hamburgers. Enough to make him abandon all responsibilities in order to get them. Idiotic by nature.
  • Masaru's rival: Tohma H Norstein's original profile (age 14): Graduates at top of class of Stockholm University at age 12. Enters DAT in Japan by volition after graduating. Genius intellect, calm and decisive. Commanding presence always putting out precise judgment. Half-Japanese by his mother, half Austrian by his noble father. His parents had eloped and spent time in Japan together, but his father was forced to return to his homeland. His mother dies afterwards. Tohma's father takes him in and raises him in a strict environment. He has a lot of compassion deep within him, but he has a stoic personality that doesn't allow him to express himself honestly. Partnered with a dog Digimon, Gaomon.
  • Team member Fujieda Yoshino's original profile (age 18): Aims to be high ranking government official in order to secure easy retirement, energetic Tokyo girl. She didn't expect to be positioned at DAT. She's normally the type to be the first on the scene when an incident happens, but she's quick to leave the scene just as quickly if she thinks she can't win. Always about money, always thrifty. Likes the word tamanokoshi (golden egg). The eldest of 5 siblings. Good at looking out after others, Masaru and Tohma treat her like an older sister too. (although it looks more like people are just giving her things to deal with). Partnered with plant Digimon, Lalamon.
